Climate change represents a fundamental challenge to the sustainability of Africa‘s growth momentum. It is imperative therefore that African countries invest in mechanisms that would mainstream climate change into their development strategies to stave off its possible negative impacts.

This paper focuses on the statistical field survey in Ghana office of the government statistician. Sample investigations in Ghana have shown a steady expansion, but it is only recently that it has been possible to propose plans for developing them as a permanent part of the statistics organization.

Most of the Cadastral surveys in the country are done by the survey and mapping division. In the laws, there is a provision for a licensed surveyor who may also carry out cadastral; surveys, but at present there is none in the country.

This statement was made yesterday in Yaoundé by the Director of ECA's sub-regional Office in Central Africa , Mr. Hachim Koumaré, at the opening of a three-day regional consultations workshop on land policy in the sub-region, taking place in Yaoundé. Around 100 land stakeholders representing national governments, civil society, private sector, centers of excellence and development partners are gathered in the capital city of Cameroon to assess land policy formulation and implementation processes and draw lessons from past experiences.
