This Regulation enacts the operation of pre-requisite plans and prescriptions covering various areas under the Forest Practices Code of British Columbia Act. It is divided into 11 Parts, i.e. Interpretation (1); Administration (2); Forest Development Plans (3); Logging Plans (4); Silviculture Prescriptions (5); Stand Management Prescriptions (6); Range Use Plans (7); Riparian Management Areas (8); Community Watersheds (9); Green-up, Ungulate Winter Range and Identified Wildlife (10), and Repealed (11).The different plans and prescriptions contained in Parts 3-7 inclusive all deal with the following: scope and content; requirements; exemptions and reviews and comments. Part 8 contains various tables showing riparian classes of streams, minimum widths of riparian reserve zones and riparian management zones for wetlands and lakes. Under Part 10, a district manager may increase green-up requirements if necessary to adequately manage and conserve hydrological, wildlife, recreational and scenic values. The Regulation specifies the portion or percentage of requirements the cutblocks must meet to be greened-up. Finally, an ungulate winter range may be established by written order, identifying; (a) an area of land that is necessary for the winter survival of an ungulate species, and (b) objectives for the management of that area.
