La presente Ley establece que el ordenamiento territorial constituye una política de Estado que, incorporándolo a la planificación nacional, promueve la gestión integral, estratégica y eficiente de todos los recursos de la nación. Se crea el Consejo Nacional de Ordenamiento Territorial (CONOT) con la finalidad e proponer, concertar y dar seguimiento a las políticas y planes en materia de ordenamiento territorial.

North New Georgia Timber Corporation Act 1979 (No. 9 of 1979).

The is established the North New Georgia Timber Corporation the principal object of which shall be to promote the utilisation of the timber resources of North New Georgia for the public benefit. There shall be a Board of Directors of the Corporation. For purposes of this Act, all ownership of timber standing on customary lands within North New Georgia shall be transferred to the Corporation (sect. 4). Compensation for the acquisition of rights shall be effected in accordance with section 5. The Functions of the North New Georgia Timber Corporation are set out in section 6.

The 27 sections of this Act are divided into 7 Parts: Preliminary (I); Soil Conservation Board (II); Conservation Orders (III); Powers of the Chief Agricultural Officer (IV); Contributions and compensation (V); Offences (VI); Miscellaneous (VII).The Scotland District Soil Conservation Board is established under section 3. The Board shall advise the Chief Agricultural Officer on the utilisation of lands in the conservation areas described in the First Schedule. The Chief Agricultural Officer may issue Conservation Orders to prevent soil erosion pursuant to section 5.

Niagara Parks Act (R.S.O. 1990, c. N.3)

This Act concerns the Niagara Parks Commission, its composition, functions and powers for the management and administration of the Niagara Parks. Section 7 provides for the acquisition and expropriation of land, section 11 concerns local improvement works, section 13 the collection of water revenues and rentals and section 14 bridges over Niagara River.

National Parks Act.

This Act in its revised edition deals with the declaration of national parks, the Nationals Parks Board and other wildlife institution, regulates hunting and provised for rights relating to water of certain owners and occupiers of land in parks. The Minister may by notice in the Gazette declare various kind of State land to be a park under a name to be assigned to it in that notice, and amend Schedule 1 by the addition of the name and a description of the land thus declared to be a park (sect. 2A and B).

North New Georgia Timber Corporation (Amendment) Act 1980 (No. 4 of 1980).

The amendments of the principal Act change the definition of “extract”, make provision for the creation of a Reserve Fund for purposes set out in section 6, and amend the Schedule relative to internal organization and other matters regarding the North New Georgia Timber Corporation. “Extract” now includes rights to quarry and to move and use sand, etc., and to take and use water, subject to the provisions of the Rivers Water Act.

National Parks and Nature Conservancy Act (Cap. 141).

This Act establishes the National Parks and Nature Conservancy Commission as a body corporate under section 3. The Commission may, with the approval of the Minister, by Order published in the Official Gazette, designate any area as a National Park, a Strict Natural Reserve, a Special Reserve, or an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. All these protected are defined in section 1. The Commission may enter into agreements with owners or other persons having an interest in an area which is designated as a protected area with the object of securing purposes of this Act.

The purpose of this Ordinance is to assist owners of land to protect and manage their land and land based resources for conservation, custom spiritual and amenity purposes. Any owner of land may apply to the Isabel Province Executive for a declaration that part or all of their land be set aside as a Conservation Area (sect. 4). The Executive may declare Conservation Areas under section 5. Section 6 concerns amendment or removal of the status as Conservation Area. A notification of a declaration as Conservation Area shall be published and distributed as prescribed in section 8.

Land Improvement Act.

This Act provides the requirements for the designing, building and management of land improvement systems, the specifications for the foundation and operations of land improvement associations operating as non-profit associations, the procedure for exercising state supervision over implementation of this Act, and liability for violations of this Act. A regulation network shall ensure that the soil water regime is suitable for crop husbandry and shall minimize the threat of the spread of pollution.
