Pomona Village Land Reservation Regulations.

Rules relative to occupation of land in the Pomona Indian Reserve. So long as sufficient land is available any person who is cultivating land in the vicinity and who wishes to occupy a plot of land in the Reserve may do so and may build his house thereon, by the written permission of the Commissioner of Lands and Surveys. The Commissioner of Lands and Surveys shall have power to refuse to permit any person to occupy a plot of land in the Reserve, and may, subject to the provisions of rule 10 of these Rules, withdraw any permission which may be given.

Land Transfer Act.

This Act provides for a wide variety of matters relating to land, land use rights, transfer of land, etc. All land subject to the provisions of the Land (Transfer and Registration) Ordinance and every estate or interest therein and all instruments and dealings affecting any such land, estate or interest shall from the commencement of this Act be deemed to be subject to the provisions of this Act.

Mining rights, mandatory for mining operations from exploration to exploitation, refining and so on, are denied to foreign individuals and Companies. Mining lease amd mining rights may be transfereed to others. Mining rights shall have a 25 years validity and shall apply to quadrilateral mining areas, whose boundaries must be exactly defined and reported in mining charts. Land deemed as prospect mining area shall be expropriated and compensation paide to landowner.

Petroleum (Exploration and Exploitation) Act.

This Act provides for the granting of petroleum exploration licences, production licences and pipeline licences, for the payment of compensation for damage to land and surface rent payable for disturbance of surface rights, and for various other matters relative to exploration and exploitation of petroleum onshore and offshore in Fiji. Applications for all types of licences shall include a written statement to the satisfaction of the Minister assessing potential environmental impact of the proposed operation.

This Act provides for mining, including alluvial mining, and regulates in detail various aspects of mining tenements, i.e. (a) an exploration licence; (b) a special mining lease; (c) a mining lease; (d) an alluvial mining lease; (e) a lease for mining purposes; and (f) a mining easement, granted or deemed to have been granted under this Act.A tenement granted under this Act is not an interest in land for the purposes of the Land Act 1996 (sect. 2). The Head of State may grant a special mining lease on specific terms and conditions under section 33.

State Lands Act.

This Act regulates the alienation, lease and use of and control over “State land”, i.e. defence lands, ‘pas géométriques’ and all lands belonging to or in possession of the State. The Minister may sell State land other than defence lands, mountain reserves which belong to the State, ‘pas géométriques’ or river reserves which belong to the State (sect. 3). No State land shall be granted or leased otherwise than at its full rental value except for charitable purposes (sect. 4).

Act respecting the acquisition of farmland by non-residents (R.S.Q., c. A-4.1).

The present Act sets out a series of measures which are designed to respect the acquisition of farmland by non-residents. It contains at the outset a definition clause relating to various terms therein employed such as "acquisition", "agriculture", "public road", "commission", "lot", "farm land". Thereafter the text deals with territorial application, control of the acquisition of farm land, application for registration of the acquisition, penalties and general provisions.

An Act to introduce a cadastral plan into the legislation of the province of Quebec. The task of implementing the said Act is entrusted to the Minister of Natural Resources, Wildlife and Parks who is going to apply the following rules some of which refer to, for example, contents of plans, establishment, original, townships, certification, regularization, land register.
