En el Perú de los últimos años  «lo rural» se hace visible sobre todo asociado a conflictos,  que  suelen son de carácter medioambiental o vinculados al narcotrafico y la violencia política. En general falta visibilidad de lo rural y prima un desinterés respecto a su problemática en la sociedad peruana y sus organizaciones.

This article addresses the methodological complexities inherent in researching poverty, examining how to differentiate the poor from other social groups, and how to assess the relationships between poverty and technology adoption and impact. The use of specific types of quantitative and qualitative methods, the degree to which their integration was achieved, and the benefits of integration are analyzed.

This article aims to contribute to the understanding of the links among conceptual, empirical and policy issues relating to agricultural growth, rural development and overall Philippine economic growth. It discusses the nature of interaction between agriculture and rural nonfarm enterprises (RNEs) focusing on the demand stimulus generated by agricultural growth. Description of the critical role of RNEs in rural development draws heavily from the contrasting development experiences of Taiwan and the Philippines.

The purpose of this report is to provide national- and state-level policymakers, private-sector investors, civil society, and donors with an analysis of the rural economy of Mon State and pathways to improved prosperity for its population. The analysis is based on a representative survey of rural households, which make up 73 percent of Mon State’s 2 million residents, and extensive interviews with farmers, traders, processors, local leaders, and government officials.

والتغيرات الكبرى التى تؤثر على الأمن الغذائي والتغذية في عام 2015 وما بعدها؛ كما
يناقش كيف يمكن للنظام الغذائي العالمي أن يساهم فى المزيد من خفض معدلات حدة الفقر،
والجوع، وسوء التغذية مع ضمان الاستخدام المستدام لموارد العالم. وسوف يكون عام 2016
