The Commission is established as a body corporate and shall be the principal advisory organ of the Government on all matters related to land use. For that purpose the Commission shall, inter alia: (a) formulate a land use planning policy; (b) coordinate all public efforts of land use planning; (c) recommend land use and conservation measures; (d) stimulate public and private participation in land use planning programmes and activities; (e) specify standards, norms and criteria for the protection and beneficial use and the maintenance of the quality of land; (f) examine existing laws, and where appropriate formulate proposals for legislation; (g) establish and maintain liasons with other countries and international organizations; (h) prepare Regional Physics Plans. In discharging its duties, the Commission shall work through the Land Advisory Committees established in districts and regions. The Commission shall have the power to issue orders, directions, notices and other documents to these Committees (sect. 6). (18 sections and a Schedule containing the by-laws of the Commission)
