Territorial Parks Act (R.S.N.W.T. 1988, c. T-4).

This Act provides for the creation and management of protected areas, in particular of Natural Environment Recreation Parks, Outdoor Recreation Parks, Community Parks, Wayside Parks, and Historic Parks. The Act also concerns aboriginal land claims settlements (sect. 4), duties and responsibilities of park officers, and the management of parks.

Wilderness and Ecological Reserves Act (R.S.N.L. 1990, c. W-9).

This Act provides for natural areas in the province to be set aside for the benefit, education and enjoyment of people. The Act creates wilderness reserves and ecological reserves and provides for their management. Under the Act, the Wilderness and Ecological Reserves Advisory Council is continued in its advisory functions and the Act further provides for its operation. The Act provides for the acquisition of land to be used for the reserves and covers offences and penalties.

Marble Mountain Special Management Area Regulations (C.N.L.R. 757/96).

These Regulations provide for the management of the Marble Mountain Special Management Area. Under section 4, all public authorities and all other persons, corporations, partnerships, associations or other organizations are prohibited from taking any action or undertaking any development that conflicts with or is inconsistent with the Marble Mountain Special Management Area Plan.

Sunnyside (Bull Arm) Special Management Area Regulations (C.N.L.R. 759/96).

These Regulations provide for the management of the Sunnyside (Bull Arm) Special Management Area. The Regulations prohibit the following activities within the area: the conveying, leasing or licensing of lands, whether privately owned or not, or the conveyance of other rights in respect to those lands; the erection, construction or placing of a building, structure or thing, on or above those lands and the application of those lands for agricultural, commercial, industrial, recreational or other purposes.

This Order consolidates with amendments the permitted development provisions of the Town and Country Planning (General Amendment) (Scotland) Order 1981 and subsequent amending instruments. The main purpose of this Order is to permit certain classes of development without express planning permission being granted under the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1972. Schedule 1 to the Order sets out these classes of development in detail, subject to articles 3 to 7.

This Regional Decree, composed of 12 articles and one Annex, defines the legal framework for the support of the Azores Regional administration to the protection of traditional vineyard landscape in Pico island within the area candidate for being declared a world heritage area. Law No. 2.393, ruling on native populations’ permanence in Conservation Units.

This Law, composed of eight articles, rules on native populations’ permanence in Conservation Units. The Law authorises the State Government to grant the right of using the occupied land to those native populations residing since over 50 years in Rio De Janeiro Conservation Units. The Law also requires native populations to actively participate in the preservation of the aforesaid units. To this end, the Law specifies forbidden activities, natural resources’ conservation duties as well as fines and penalties for non compliance.

La presente Resolución prohíbe el uso intencional del fuego como elemento de manejo ecológico de los campos, cerrados u otro tipo de formación de sabana, adaptados a la ocurrencia de incendios periódicos, en el período de escasez de lluvias (meses de junio, julio y agosto). Fuera de dicho período, su utilización está restringida al cumplimiento de las disposiciones contenidas en la Ley Nº 422/73 (la cual ha sido reemplazada por la Ley Nº 542/93 - Ley de los recursos forestales).

Conservation Districts Act (C.C.S.M. c. C175).

The purpose of this Act is to provide for the conservation, control and prudent use of resources through the establishment of conservation districts, and to protect the correlative rights of owners (sect. 2). The Act continues the Conservation Districts Commission and regulates its operation and functioning. The Act defines the procedure for the establishment of conservation districts and provides for the management of each district by a dedicated board and regulates the operation of such boards.
