Decree No. 35/99 establishing the requirements to be satisfied for coastal sand extraction.

This Decree establishes the requirements to be satisfied for sand extraction. It consists of 8 chapters and 2 forms establishing the conditions to be observed in order to perform the aforementioned activity within coastal and inland river areas. It concerns licensing, beach selection, environmental impact assessment, sanctions to be paid for illegal activity, etc. The forms list the information to be given in order to obtain a licence.

This Regulation (consisting of 20 articles) establishes non-agricultural use of agricultural areas. Allocation of any land other than settlement areas for non-agricultural use is subject to consent of the General Directorate of Rural Services. Class I and Class II agricultural lands can not be used for any other purposes. Also lands that are classified as Class III and Class IV due to insufficient drainage and salinity, but that could be converted in to Class I and Class II by improving can not be used for non-agricultural purposes.

Law No. 3573 on olive improvement and grafting of wild species.

The objective of this Law which includes 25 articles and 2 supplementary articles is to define the procedure for olive improvement efforts. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs is the leading agency for establishing, sowing, grafting and establishing gardens for wild species. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs provides land to those who would apply for olive sowing. Seeds will also be provided by the Government on cost basis. These land will be permanently transferred to those who have engaged in olive planting for five years.

This Law is formulated for the purpose of the prevention and control of soil erosion, the protection and rational utilisation of water and soil resources, the mitigation of disasters of flood, drought and sandstorm, the improvement of ecological environment and the development of production. "Water and soil conservation" means preventive and rehabilitative measures taken against soil erosion, which is caused by natural factors or human activities.Chapter I General Provisions, includes the procedures of the water and soil conservation work.

In accordance with this Regulation the licensed activity is sub-divided in two groups: a) inspection of agricultural land for the purpose of the exposure of the eroded, saline, swamped soils; desertified soils, sedimentary soils, as a result of mining, reindeer pastures with the soil and vegetation damaged; b) soils contaminated by industrial waste and nuclear substances. The Regulation consists of 4 Sections. Section 1 lays down the general provisions. Section 2 establishes the modalities of issuing licences. Section 3 determines the rights and the duties of the holders of licence.

Resolución Nº 043/01/AG - Crea la Comisión Técnica de Aguas y Suelos.

La presente Resolución crea la Comisión Técnica Nacional de Agua y Suelos a cargo del Ministerio de Agricultura, cuyos objetivos son evaluar, elaborar y proponer los lineamientos y acciones que permitan el manejo y conservación de los recursos hídricos y recursos naturales vinculados. La Comisión cesara en sus funciones el 28 de julio de 2001, debiendo hacer entrega de un informe final de actividades al Ministerio de Agricultura.

El presente Decreto dispone que los bosques o montes públicos necesariamente han de ser explotados mediante control del Gobierno. En lo sucesivo, el aprovechamiento de productos forestales que se realice en bosques de tal naturaleza sin permiso del Departamento de Tierras del Ministerio de la Economía Nacional, no constituye explotación lícita de los mismos y, en consecuencia, no confiere derechos, no da posesión de la tierra donde tales bosques se hallaron plantados, ni puede invocarse como fundamento para obtener las adjudicación de terrenos baldíos.

Forest Reserves Act (RSA 2000, c. F-20).

This Act and the regulations apply to all land within the boundaries of any forest reserves established pursuant to this Act. "Forest reserves" is all land described in the appendix to the agreement set forth in the Schedule to chapter 20 of the Statutes of Alberta, 1948, and to chapter 59 of the Statutes of Canada, 1947. All forest reserves within Alberta are set apart and established for the conservation of the forests and other vegetation in the forests and for the maintenance of conditions favourable to an optimum water supply.

Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 86/98 approving Portuguese coastal zone planning.

Soil Conservation Act (RSA 2000, c. S-15).

This Act does not apply in respect of the use of specified land within the meaning of Part 5 of the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act. Every landholder shall, in respect of his land, take appropriate measures: (a) to prevent soil loss or deterioration from taking place; or (b) if soil loss or deterioration is taking place, to stop the loss or deterioration from continuing.
