This Act provides rules relative to the carrying out of excavations, quarrying of mines and landfill operations and the control of such activities affecting the soil and landscape. The Act also provides for the protection of trees in certain circumstances.The Minister is charged with the responsibility of regulating excavation, landfill operations, quarrying, mining and harvesting of protected trees in The Bahamas, for the purpose of providing for and ensuring the conservation and maintenance of the environment.

The Act makes provision for prescription in respect of claims relative Common Law, by custom, prescription or grant, to any right of common or other profit or benefit to be taken and enjoyed from or upon any land or in respect of a watercourse or the use of any water.

This Act concerns legal proceedings and proof regarding the ascertainment or evidence of title in land or interest in any estate.The Act sets out the procedures for obtaining a certificate of title and the effects of a certificate of title. The Act also allows a person to request a court to investigate matters that may affect a title in land. A certificate of title obtained by fraud shall be null and void. The Rules Committee of the Supreme Court may make rules for specified purposes.

These Regulations implement provisions of the Conservation and Protection of the Physical Landscape of The Bahamas Act, 1997 concerning the application for, and the granting of, permits for excavation or landfill operations or the to harvesting of protected trees and a licence to quarry or mine. Applications, permits or licences shall be in the form as set out in the Schedule to these Regulations.

It defines land use allowed in the area covered by the Plan with the view of balancing natural resources and values with a sustainable land use.

This Resolution, composed of two articles and one Annex, approves the management Plan of Albufeira de Santa Clara (POASC), including the regulation and zoning maps, and modifies accordingly the National Ecological reserve. The Attached Management Plan is composed of VI Chapters divided in 35 articles. It classifies land use allowed in the area covered by the Plan with the view of balancing natural resources and values with a sustainable land use.

This Resolution composed of two articles and one Annex, approves the Management Plan of Albufeira da Aguieira, including the regulation and zoning maps, and modifies accordingly the National Ecological reserve. The Attached Management Plan is composed of six Chapters divided in 48 articles. It classifies land use allowed in the area covered by the Plan with the view of balancing natural resources and values with a sustainable land use.

The Act is composed of the following Sections: Introductory provisions (sec. 1); Principles of sustainable usage of agricultural land and maintenance of agricultural land and its protection (sec. 2); Changing classification of land (sec. 3); Protection of agricultural land during non-agricultural usage (sec. 4); State administration of agricultural land protection (sec. 5); Offences (sec. 6); Common, provisional and final provisions (sec. 7).

The Decree of the Ministry of Agriculture, which is composed of six articles and five Annexes, sets up details on: working out balance of veiling terramare horizon of agricultural soil; working out project of recultivation of agricultural soil; evaluation of results of building designs on agricultural land.

The purpose of this Law establishes criteria for calculating damages for the cultivation of land allocated for non-agricultural purposes. In the event agricultural land is allocated for non-agricultural purposes, substitute land cultivation costs shall be reimbursed and appropriate damages caused by the deprivation or temporary tenure of land shall be paid. The procedures and conditions Law shall apply to agricultural lands, land fit for agricultural purposes and land located beyond built-up areas that cannot be used as agricultural land in the future.
